It’s been a long and unpredictable winter, but spring is just around the corner, and March is finally here!  And with it comes March Madness on Main Street!

Peabody Main Streets is hosting its annual Pop-up Ice Bar on March 2 on the Courthouse Plaza, the annual St. Patrick’s Day Breakfast will be held in Peabody City Hall’s Wiggin Auditorium on March 16, and for the first time Northeast Arc’s Black Box Theater on Foster Street will be host to several Salem Film Festival events on March 30 and 31!

There are several businesses opening up on Main Street in or around the month of March!  Look for the grand opening of the NexMex Thing Mexican Restaurant, which is moving on up Main Street from its current location at 10 Lowell Street to 77 Main Street, which happens to be next to Granite Coast Brewing Company, also opening in the next few weeks.  Olio, a new and exciting event venue, will be opening its doors above an expanded Maki Sushi Restaurant at 43 Main Street.  Keep an eye out for Jovi, an upscale consignment boutique, which is moving from the Mills on Pulaski Street to 86 Main Street (next to the Peabody Institute Library).

Businesses can adopt hanging flower baskets on Main Street through the Peabody Area Chamber of Commerce, and new and colorful banners will soon adorn the lamp posts on Main Street.

Looking for something to do with the kids ages 2-10?  Be sure to check out CuriousCity, the new pop-up children’s museum located in the George Peabody House Museum at 205 Washington Street, which will open from March 31 through June 30.
